This is the First Modern Library Giant Edition, published by Random House in the US. The book has a salutation “From Ruth & Richard, Dec. 1947” on the inside cover. Also, there is an old address label on the same page, “ Bea Goyne Miller, 1918 W. Twenty-third Street, Los Angeles 7, CA.” This is the old address format before the nine digit zip code.
