Description: A very rare Mobile Fidelity UHQR mastering of Supertamp’s classic album Crime of the Century. The original A&M mastering was superb, but the Mofi effort lifts the sonic performance to amazing levels of audio. If you have a decent system and you love this album, then here’s your chance to secure a very nice copy. Remastered in 1981 and pressed by JVC in Japan. This is a numbered limited release of 5000. This copy is number 3633 and the authentication certificate is present. This is the very best pressing/mastering of this classic album and increasingly rare on the used market. Those copies that do enter the market are usually in the USA or Germany. These attract 20% import duty on top of the purchase price. Condition is excellent overall, especially when you consider the age of the album and box etc. The record is in excellent condition. I’ve just play tested it and would make the following comments regarding playback. The only track that has any issues is track 1 (School), and this track is 98% ex/near mint. However, there is some background crackle on the harmonica intro with a couple of louder ticks. These last for a few seconds only. The rest of the track and the record is superb. Rudy on side 2 has a repetitive tick lasting a minute or so. The remainder of the record is overall excellent. Everything is present. The outer box is graded as VG+.
