Description: DATING TO THE 1860’S FASHIONED OF A LIGHT AND DARK BROWN PINSTRIPED SILK AND WOOL BLEND THAT FEELS MORE LIKE SILK IN ITS FEEL. STITCHED BY BOTH MACHINE AND HAND. DORSET BUTTONS CLOSE THE FRONT WITH A HOOK AND STRING EYE AT THE BOTTOM. SLEEVES SET OFF THE SHOULDER WITH A PIPED SEAM, SATIN PIPING ON BOTTOM CUFFS WITH A WHITE CLUNY LACE FRILL CUFF. SATIN PIPING AND FRINGE TRIM BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR. SKIRT FALLS LONG WITH WOOL BINDING ON THE BOTTOM EDGE SEAM. INTERIOR IS LINED IN POLISHED COTTON WITH A STARCHED BURLAP BUCKRAM ON THE BOTTOM INNER HEM. A FAN OF BONING IN THE FRONT WITH A HOOK AND EYE INNER STOMACH PANEL CLOSING. CONDITION: THE STRING EYE IN THE FRONT NEEDS TO BE RESTITCHED. TWO SNAPS WERE ADDED AT THE FRONT CLOSURE AND THE TOP WAISTBAND ON THE CENTER FRONT SHOWS EVIDENCE OF CARTRIDGE PLEATING REMOVED. ONE FAINT THUMBPRINT SPOT IS ON THE TOP JUST ABOVE THE PIPED WAISTBAND. THE UNDERARMS HAVE A FAINT HARD TO NOTE STAIN TO THE OUTSIDE, THE INSIDE LINING SHOWS FADE TO THE BROWN COLOR. THERE IS A LINE OF WATER STAIN ON TOP OF THE SHOULDER ON THE RIGHT SIDE. NO HOLES. STRONG AND WEARABLE.
