Vincent Price Remarks On Acting and Art Purch. From Vincent Price Estate 6tt

Description: Vincent Price Handwritten essay on how the appreciation and collection of Art has added to his “exciting profession” of acting. He is saddened that Art and its collection revolve today around money (or the lack of it): “Having worked in one of the most exciting professions most of my adult life, I feel a little ashamed to admit that some of my biggest kicks have come from my highly purposeful, cultivated avocation, the appreciation and collection discovery in the various Art of painting, and especially drawing. I’m not a great theater goer which I should be, and I often am so far behind in my movie-going or T.V. watching Academy Awards come and go. But in the visual arts, except for certain individual artists who come and go without my caring, and some movements in Art I just haven’t time for. I do keep pretty current for the most part, and I have self-educated an eye for forgotten or bypassed Art. But, alas, today the above credentials are of little good without money. Even taste and knowledge will get you nowhere today, without the wherewithal of the buck. Money is so identified with Art, Art judgment has almost evaporated.” This is ideal for the Vincent Price collector Purchased from the Estate of Vincent Price.
