Vintage 1950's PUFF TEXTURE tawny gold-tan floral theme shirtdress Adele Martin

Description: Get that 50's look with this very durable, and very unique puff floral print dress, by Adele Martin... This interesting dress features a somewhat unique detail: puff textured fabric, which was somewhat of a forgotten trend of the 1950's. (I've seen many examples of the puff-print fabric, but never in synthetic fabric, with this level of detail -the flowers really acquire a 3-dimensional feel!) Made of a most likely nylon, or some other synthetic weave fabric, with a very lightweight hand. It is a typical shirt dress style, with collared neckline, 3/4 length sleeves, full circle skirt, and button closure all the way down the center front. This example also features turned-up cuffs and hidden hip pockets. This dress has been through a few modifications; the side seams and waistline were taken in -but with hand stitching, and the dress has been over-dyed to this tawny-golden brown color. I went ahead and machine stitched all the seams that were altered, back to the original sizing, with the exception of the back waist darts, which have repaired holes at their points (I decided that putting the darts back in might jeopardize the rapids to the former dart points in the fabric, where holes had developed). There is fading and discoloration throughout -the over-dye job didn't take in a uniform way. Some funky hand-stitching/modifications were left alone (like in the cuffs), and there are two buttons missing (one at top, at neckline but there is a snap closure and the other at second-to-last of bottom). Dress is unlined and without other design details. Only label reads 'Adele Martin Original'. Overall condition is good, with the aforementioned issues -please review photographs for full details.
