Description: Vintage hammered copper vase with squat body and narrower neck with flaring mouth, made in Santa Clara del Cobre in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. Labor intensive copper hammering technique starts with a single lump of copper that is hammered into a desired shape, so there are no seams or joinery on the piece. Beautifully made in Arts and Crafts style, elegant shape, superb reddish patina, in excellent condition. Stamped on the bottom ACH for initials of the artist Antonio Castro Hdz and 04 for the year it was made (2004). Height 5 1/4 inches.
