Description: I have a vintage J.C. Higgins Beach cruiser bicycle, from 1959. It was sold out of the Sears & Roebuck catalog. It is ready to ride. New tires, new seat, new KMC stainless steel chain, and new pedals. 26 in wheel so it is adult / teen sized. Fully restored: Bike completely disassembled and cleaned with chrome buffed. Reassembled and repacked all bearings with new grease. Rear coaster brake hub completely rebuilt. It has the added catalog option of an Androck basket. New parts added for reliability and safety. Original paint and chrome. Over 30 hours of work on the bike. This bike has the rare and sought-after komet super coaster brake hub. These hubs sell around $180 by themselves. It is original to the bike so it was rebuilt and it will remain in place. I am the 2nd owner of this bike. It was purchased from the original owner in Encinitas California. She received one and her brother received the other as Christmas presents for 1960 when they were children. I purchased them out of the garage that they have been kept in since new. Truly a rare find. The restoration was just completed and they have only a mile or one bike ride on them just to check the quality of the work. They performed outstanding. I believe the boys / men's was by Murray for J.C Higgins. I also believe the girls / woman's was made by monarch for J.C. Higgins. Monarch was later renamed Huffman then later huffy. They are truly quality bicycles that are rare to find these days. I have had many schwinn, electra, murray, and huffy bicycles that are not equal to this quality. J.C. Higgins made bicycles on this style from 1956 to 1963. They were later badged Sears in 1964. I would love to sell them as a set. I am listing them both individually. Both are for sale. They have been together since new in 1959. They have over 30 hours of work per bicycle by a professional bicycle restorer on top of a pile of new parts like tires, seats, pedals, chains etc...
