Description: This vintage Copeland Spode's Tower pink set of five handled cream soup and saucers is a beautiful addition to any collection. The set includes, five two handled bowls measuring 5 inches across the lip, 2 inches tall without the underplates and 7 inches from handle to handle, the underplates are approximately 7 1/4 inches in diameter with a round shape. The bone china material and glossy finish give it a polished look, while the earthenware production style adds to its unique charm. The sets that Iam offering were manufactured in England between 1920 when the product line was first introduced until around 1938 The older red oval backstamp remained in use until around 1980, Then the newer black backstamp was introduced. The Spode's Tower pattern can be extremely difficult to accurately date However they did impress on the backs of some of the flatware pieces with the month and year product was manufactured for example (Y- 36) would be May of 1936.
