Vintage Excellent NEW 50 DOBBS Fedora Beaver Twenty 7-3/8 & Box?

Description: This EXCELLENT (appears New) late 1940S to early 1950s Vintage DOBBS Beaver Twenty Fedora, size 7-3/8. This is a REAL LOOKER! That Beaver Twenty is just outstanding! So thick and very very soft! You just don’t find hats made like this anymore! The color of the Beaver is a medium dark gray! We don’t know why it doesn’t come out consistently but the picture of the closeup with the feather is a best representation of the color. The others are coming out a few shades darker than the actual color of this fedora. This was manufactured in the very late 1940 (1948-1949) or the very early 1950s (1951 to early 1952). You can see that “Onion Skin” type hat liner cover. And that is perfect too! No breaks or cracking on it. That was discontinued by early 1951 when DOBBS then started using this thin plastic liner cover and that made this easily identified as a late 1949-1951 DOBBS fedora hat! This currently has been shaped into a “Pinched Crown” with a perfect dip on the front brim. Initially Dad steamed this into a Center Dent but Because this is a Beaver Twenty allows this to easily be “hand bashed” but Dad decided to shape this with the Pinched Crown steamed into the fedora. But dad will steamed the pinched crown out if you write to ask him? This would leave it as a Center Dent only then and you can do your own “hand-bashing. Pictures say much more about this great DOBBS fedora! We took all angles and this is also part of the description. If you have any questions please write to us. NOTE: this was found in that DOBBS Oval hat box but the underside is all broken out and there is no hat holding insert set. So Dad has replaced that with the late 1950s-1960s Hat Box. The box is still in great condition with its original hat holding insert set. It has only very very minor paper wear. Dad has decided to try and keep the hat box with this hat! But if you do want the hat box you’ll need to write to us. Shipping with the hat box is $32.20. It requires a large shipping box so it does cost a bit more than without. This hat box is well worthy of displaying and storing the hat inside. NOTE: shipping outside the continental USA is without the hat box. Ok now the particularsThe original size tag states 7-3/8 and this measures to a perfect 7-3/8! We actually measures each hat 3 times to verify its true hat size, wether it has a tag or not. We use the Tilley hat size chart. This chart is still in use today. Color Gray Size 7-3/8 or 23 -1/8 inches or 59 Length 12 inches Width 10.4 inches Height 5 inches, at the highest point, as shaped now Wide Brim width 1.9+ inches, it’s just a fraction under a perfect 2 inches Matching Grosgrain ribbon 2 inches The feather set is still in very good condition. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL HAT! Everyone will turn heads for this hat! NOTE: this was just edited to now to add an option for a coat trolley string. A Gray one will look perfect with this fedora! This is NOT sewn onto the hat but could be by any decent tailor or the end can be trimmed off and used just as an adornment.
