Description: Beautiful Mahaonnha Russian Made Mandolin w/ New Gig Bag. This is a very well made, handcrafted mandolin, with handpainted artwork. The sound and tone are crisp and bold, easy to play, great action on the fretboard, and very unique. After arriving here at Orphan, it has had a full refurbishing. It was sanded, lightly stained, and hand rubbed Poly to protect it, and give it the duribility to carry on into the future. Of course it has some wear, couple of little scratches, minor markings, but it's natural mojo has been preserved, and you can see it's story and history by looking, and playing it. All hardware has been dis- assembled, conditioned, and put back together in great working order. This is a bit smaller than today's mandolins. The length head to toe is 24"..the fretboard is 10" long. The bridge is floating..so can be moved to wherever is best for you. All original, nut, bridge, tuners, string trapeze. Lot's of cleaning and polishing, and while doing the work, constant playing and tuning, making sure before it leaves the shop, it is ready to fly, and has passed the test, having no negative issues. Comes ready to play out of the box...with just a little tuning. Being this age, it is delicate, and will lose pitch after sitting without playing. adjust the tune gradually, as cranking the tuners tend to snap the higher strings, A and E.
