For auction is a vintage, original and clean (considering it's near 100 year old age) National model FB7(X) ham radio HF receiver with original coils. Item is from a smoke free home. This item is in excellent overall condition with some wear/age present, and no major damage apparent. Please see all thirteen clear pictures as they are an integral part of this description. It is apparent that the original owner looked after his/her vintage ham radio equipment and/or stored it properly. This early National receiver was removed from a pre WWII ham radio assortment. Among other sets originally found with this radio were a National model SW3 'Thrill Box,' a National model 1-10 receiver, various National Co. accessories, etc. which have been previously sold/listed here on eBay. Item is free from any loose particles inside it's original metal cabinet and/or chassis. Item also looks to be free from any non original drilled holes, major modifications, etc. This receiver has it's factory original painted finish in near uniform condition which helps with the overall appeal of this radio cosmetically right from the start. The original top cover does open/close properly. Item includes a matching pair of original National coils, knob(s), dial, dial pointer, escutcheon, etc. front panel chart and/or dials. The front panel's tuning knob does move the original dial pointer both ways properly. Each matching and also original front panel toggle type switch is present and functioning. Picture nine portrays the receiving coil pair up close; each National coil does plug into their front panel socket correctly. The radio does also include it's original cloth line cord/plug, too. Pictures five through seven portray this item inside. All parts inside do appear to be original; all tubes, knob, etc. and are included as found. Tubes are untested. Anyone familiar with the mostly pre War National receiver line, definitely can see the potential with this particular receiver. The National FB7's were (and remain) one of the premier radio receiver's nearly a century ago. This radio will make an awesome addition to your pre WWII National receiver assortment, National ham radio collection and/or ham radio station(s). As with all vintage electronics, a qualified person and/or technician should go through this item before continuous use.
