Vintage Redline MX 2 BMX Bike 1978/79 MX II

Description: Insane collectors example of an original survivor 1979 Redline MX II. Nothing is changed from how the original owner had it set up in the 80s aside from the seat. 100% survivor condition. I dusted one side of the bike off for photos after taking it out of storage but left the other half untouched for the future owners enjoyment. I can remove this dust with a microfiber if asked. The seat is some random used seat that I bought on eBay a while after I acquired the bike, it was the only authentic one I could find that was semi “period correct.” It came in rougher condition than pictured so that is the reason for the scrape on it. Tires were replaced and ordered online, forgot the name of the company but when I did research it was popular for old BMX parts along with quality reproduction parts. They aren’t original from the 70s. Everything else is exactly as the bike was purchased in 79. Possibly one of the best spec’d bikes of this era I’ve seen, but I’m biased because I favor yellow. Number plate is completely original and has never been removed from the bike, same goes for the stickers that are on there. This bike is truly a gem. The pre patent ACS Z wheels in yellow are insane, has original “Mach” grips that aren’t sticky or ruined. Original haro handles & yellow brake lines. Dia Compe MX Brakes, Suntour VX Crank. Shimano DX Pedals. Of course redline forks & redline brute stem that came original. V Bars as well. The only things that aren’t exactly as they were when purchased in 78/79 is the seat and the mediocre tires that I mentioned. Some people only like full restorations but a survivor like this is more special to others. I imagine not many are exactly as they came, especially with the OG Haro plate. Original sticker from the shop it was purchased from is still on, along with the peeling but original ACS Z Stickers on the wheels. I believe those only came on the pre patent wheels & imagine they all peeled like that, then got ripped off. Couldn’t get myself to remove them. Seat says aero on it, rest of the print is mostly faded/ hard to see. Lastly, both of the redline pads are original to the bike. Really want this to go to a great home that will cherish it.
