Description: For you to consider is a quaint, difficult to find Chinoiserie majolica monkey sculpture centerpiece compote or tazza from the postwar era. Made for export, this piece was inspired by and mirrors original Meissen designs from the 1800s, complete with its original bok choy trinket or fruit bowl atop unlike modern day recasts. Substantial in size, the overall dimensions are approximately 12 inches in height, 9 inches in length and 8 inches wide, with the bowls diameter measuring 8 inches. A small stress crack or fracture that formed over time can be seen along the interior edge of the bowl. This has been stabilized, repaired many years ago, and a reasonable effort was attempted to conceal its presence. This is neither immediately noticed or distracting from the exterior leafy side but can be seen with relative ease on the bowls interior. This fracture is completely stable and should cause no further issue. Otherwise no other damages or compromising imperfections are found. Wear is commensurate to age and history of use so please regard the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing. We welcome your questions and are delighted to answer!
