Description: Here we have a wonderful antique cast iron round and flat HANDLED COMAL GRIDDLE (size #7) made by WAGNER WARE of Sidney, OH. The bottom is marked, " "WAGNER" ~ SIDNEY, O. ~ 7." It measures approx. 8-3/8" top diameter (add 4-1/4" for the handle) x 8-3/4" base diameter x 1/2" side high. It in good maintained (used) shape with no chips or cracks, although it has not been cleaned since acquired and is being offered in "as found" condition. Currently it shows cook/heat marks pretty much all over (mostly cook build-up matter on the sides and outer surface edge.) Exterior bottom shows minor oxidation/light rust...all of which are not offensive. A clean and re-season, then good to go. Once cleaned, the interior surface will be smoother to the touch. NOTE: great pan for heating up tortillas. This cast iron Comal/Griddle heats evenly, retains the heat, and with consistent care it will last a lifetime. Came from a private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown, circa 1900-1924's. This item weighs approx. 2-3/4 lbs., add 2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material.
