Description: SHORT WAVE and LONG WAVE UV Nice specimen of an interesting group of minerals from the Franklin Mine. There are a couple of small, teal colored Fluorapatite crystals mixed in with yellow Andradite Garnet, Calcite, Willemite and Franklinite crystals. Note that there is a small blob of old yellow glue on the backside that one had a label attached. Under long wave UV light the Fluorapatite fluoresces orange and the Willemite green pics #4 and 7. Under short wave UV the Calcite is red and the Willemite again is green pics #2, 6, 9. Using magnification is suggested around 10x to see the minerals well. From the Franklin Mining District, Franklin, New Jersey. 40 grams. 5 cm length roughly. NOTE! I used a 6 watt short wave lamp for the SW images, and a Convoy S2 long wave UV flashlight for the long wave images. You will need the same or similar to see the fluorescence. I do combine shipping, so please request an invoice before paying.
